Close to everything beach, shopping ,eatery and friendly staff very helpful and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Reasonable price.
I like their hardwood floor nice and clean but since we stayed on the first floor you can hear every steps of those who are on top of your room and can not sleep coz every move is loud. And in the morning their housekeeper starts so early like seven in the morning dragging their carts to clean the rooms and they were noise talking loud. And people next room like to slam their door. It was awful and bad night for us ,maybe if you go to the third floor but there is no elevator. This will the first and the last time for me to stay there.
Since our son has been attending UCSC, we have stayed at the Continental Inn every time we come up to see him. We like it because it is clean, reasonably priced and centrally located.
The room was clean and well maintained. I liked that the lights are on timers so if you forget to turn them off, they will go off on their own. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was enjoyable.
There was a noise level issue during the night and early morning. Since we had a room at parking lot level, all the noises traveled into the room.
The room was fresh and clean. It felt brand new. Thank you.
I was not happy that water was not available at breakfast. I am not a coffeee drinker and when I asked for water I was told none was available. There was a kitchen in plain sight so I picked up a cup and walked in and helped myself.
I liked how clean the entire property was kept along with the colorful flowers. I enjoyed the continental breakfast...much to choose from. I liked how clean the room was, the bed was very comfortable and the location is perfect. So close to the beach without beach hotel prices.
It was reasonably priced. It was in a central location close to restaurants and the beach. It was clean. The room was spacious. There was free WiFi
The walls are kinda thin. You can hear everyone taking a shower and flushing the toilet in the adjacent rooms. The continental breakfast is only from 7AM to 9AM. It should at least go until 10:30.
I liked the free breakfast, that it was close to the boardwalk, and it was near alot of restaurants.
In my opinion, this hotel is too pricey for the quality of the room.
My 6 Y.O. son and I stayed there while we were visiting Santa Cruz, we registered for 1 night and ended up staying another. The staff was very accominating when I requested a second night. The room was nice and I especially liked the laminated floors. We will stay there again when we visit Santa Cruz.
I am from Argentina and stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. I was surprised as the hotel was much more that I expected for the price I paid. Staff very friendly and willing to help. Very good service and location: walking distance from the beach, supermarkets, bus station, restaurants and main shopping street. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay here in my next visit.
The breakfast was the usual hotel type food but good.
The bed in room 233 was very uncomfortable. I could feel the springs and did not sleep well. The breakfast room was very tiny and crowded
Clean, friendly, quiet, sense of privacy, landscape and foliage very pleasant
parking lot was full late at night and we needed to park across the street
Very efficient, friendly, knowledgeable staff LOVED the design of the room, color, happy style LOVED the pictures of vintage post cards Brilliant use of small space. Will definitely come again! OH great breakfast!!
One problem: too small area to sit and eat breakfast - quite crowded, but I brought my food back to the room.
The room was very nicely appointed with up to date furnishings. It was located perfectly for our event. I will stay there again. Daughter is attending UCSC.
On a busy street....but it is summer in a great ovation and that is to be expected.
Location was good. The place seemed well run.
The staff seemed overwhelmed at breakfast Sunday morning, July 15. Access to Ocean Street was challenging at peak hours.
Room and bath were attractive, well equipped, and very comfortable. One of the best Santa Cruz restaurants - Oswald - is within easy walking distance.
Some breakfast baked goods were stale.
